About Us

Pencarrow Candles is based in beautiful Eastbourne, Lower Hutt close to the Pencarrow Lighthouse which overlooks the Cook Strait.  The lighthouse and surrounding area provided the inspiration to create the company in 2018.

Our mission is to create premium quality candles, as sustainably as possible, using natural ingredients from across Aotearoa.  Locally sourced ingredients, such as Wairarapa lavender and local botanicals are used in a number of our products. Supporting other small NZ businesses is at the core of what we do and we think this shows in the quality of our products.

The sustainable mission led to the creation of Sustain - the refillable candle.  A glass container that can be refilled again and again with a range of eco-friendly wrapped refills to choose from.
